BR Writer’s Tips Intro: How Do I Get My Writing Featured on Bleacher Report?
At Bleacher Report, anyone who follows sports can be a sportswriter—but that doesn’t mean success is guaranteed.
The market for sportswriting is exceptionally tight, both at Bleacher Report and on the Internet in general. If you’re going to make it, you’ve got to be good. And if you’re going to be good, you’ve got to take your craft seriously.
There are no hard-set qualities of “good” sportswriting. That said, Bleacher Report veterans have learned a trick or two over the years, and the tips that follow in this series should go a long way in helping you get your career off the ground.
Remember, nothing worth having ever comes cheap. A little effort can go a long way here. We’ll look forward to seeing what you’ve got.

Dusty,
You can become an editor by taking the B/R Editing Tutorial:

I too am new to B/R and can’t believe what a great site it is. I have just begun to do a little writing on the CBS community and luckily I stumbled upon B/R. I would really like to hone my skills and “learn” the tricks of the trade. I am looking forward to the tutorial and any advice you can give. Thanks a lot.

Hey, I’m new to the site. I’m looking forward to writing some articles on various sports topics and sharpen up on my writing skills. I plan on going to college in the spring to be a sports journalist and I thought this would be a good place to practice. Hope to learn a lot.
Loren
Sounds like a plan, Loren; hopefully B/R can help you cut your teeth as a sportswriter. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do to help along the way.

Hi, I’ve been with BR for a little while and I’m really impressed with it. I only read the F1 generally, but the community that I’ve seen is great, I personally think your really onto something here if you could reach more people.
I’ve never written, but have been inspired to so. Is this comment wall a good place to discuss article idea’s, or is there a specific forum for that?
Chris.
Chris,
I’m glad you’re digging the site so far.
Unfortunately, we don’t currently have a dedicated forum to discuss article ideas. As a substitute, I’d recommend that you raise any questions you might have with the Community Leaders for individual sections, or with any of the Top Writers for any particular league or sport. In general, B/R’s resident experts are the best folks to turn to for advice and support.
If you ever have any questions for me in particular, you can reach me at ralberti@bleacherreport.com.

i just joined bleacher report yesterday and im already a contributer
As you should be, Frank—because all users who publish their work on B/R make the jump from “Member” to “Contributor.” Good luck climbing the ranks from here on out…and please let me know if you ever have any specific questions or concerns.

Hello Ryan, I love the website and hope to become a key contributer to it. I just wanted to know what a sindicated writer is and how to become one.
I’ve noticed the label on writers even newer to the site than I am and I was curious.
