Longtime contributor and Founder of TheScoreBoards.com Chris Radez is asking all members of the Bleacher Report Community to publish an article promoting their city or town and explaining what it brings to the world of sports.

Chris got the ball rolling with a tribute to his hometown of Latham, New York. Be sure to check it out and make your own contribution to the series by giving your writeup a “My Town Rocks” headline and tag.

It goes without saying that the talent you’ll find on Bleacher Report resides in a variety of locations across the globe. This is an exciting opportunity to get a better sense of each other’s backgrounds—thanks for the idea Chris!

ESPN Radio Talk Show Host and longtime Bleacher Creature Adam Amick has plans to host a weekly show featuring contributors from the web’s fastest growing sports network.

Adam did a test run last night, which from all accounts was a wild success. Adam recaps the night’s events in this article, while St. Louis Cardinals Community Leader Ben Weixlmann reflects upon how a radio show could further add to the unique user experience that Bleacher Report provides sports fans.

We’re working with Adam as we speak to explore ways to further integrate radio into the network and schedule/promote the new show. Updates will be posted both on the blog and the Bleacher Report Radio page—stay tuned.

Calling all basketball freaks: Forget Jay Bilas, Chad Ford, and Bill Simmons—for the best NBA draft analysis on the web, tune into Bleacher Report Thursday beginning at 4:30 PM Pacific time.

Three of our resident NBA experts—Erick Blasco, Andrew Ungvari, and Michael Whittenberg—will be giving you the pick-by-pick skinny throughout the entire first round. They’ll be dissecting the nitty gritty in a private chat and publishing the transcripts as articles on the NBA section of Bleacher Report every hour or so under a group account called The Collective.

Will Derrick Rose celebrate his homecoming in Chicago? Will Michael Beasley join his friend Kevin Durant in Seattle? Can the Lopez Twins kick their comic book addictions and play some hoops in ‘09?

Find out tomorrow—and let the Collective tell you what it all means for next season.

Stancill, Little Best NBA Beat Writers

Written by Trey Bradley

Jun 23 2008

After two months, four rounds, and nearly 300 articles, it was still too close to call. So Sean Stancill and Jeff Little will share top honors in the inaugural NBA Beat Writers competition.

Better than 30 Bleacher Creatures took part in the content initiative, following their NBA team throughout the postseason and attracting more than 158,000 readers.

Senior Writer Jeff Little, a Los Angeles die hard, capitalized on his Lakers’ success, providing thorough, insightful coverage from the opening round to the NBA Finals aftermath.

With his Nuggets eliminated by those very Lakers, Stancill had to take a different route, digging deep into Denver draft analysis, off-season trade possibilities, and a potential coaching change.

For their contributions, Stancill and Little each receive a $100 gift card to NBA.com.

Honorable mention goes to two Celtics writers, Sean Crowe and Andrew Palumbo, who provided great coverage of Boston’s title run.

Thanks to all who participated.

On Saturday, June 14th—around 2:05 PM South Carolina time—resident Bleacher Creature and College Hoops Community Leader Tim Pollock officially became a Daddy.

Tim’s wife Kim (yes, Kim and Tim) gave birth to a beautiful baby boy, and the couple named the little guy Elijah William Pollock.

We wish Tim all the best in his new life as a father and are excited to see how it affects his outlook on the sports world.  If Tim’s latest submission is any indication,  the experience appears to be as rewarding as one would expect.
