Shoutouts: We love to laugh, a-ha-ha-ha

Pete Rose Kool-Aid adNeed a laugh at the end of a hot, hot day? I feel your pain. It almost hit 70 in San Francisco this afternoon.

A couple of fun and funny pieces in Bleacher Report today:

Edward Novelo has a slideshow reviewing the 25 Funniest Scenes in Sports Movie History”.

Have you seen them all? Are any missing? “Tin Cup”? Really?

I don’t know if it’s possible to be even goofier than some of those scenes, but some of the ads in Eli Marger’s slideshow today give it a shot. The 10 most ridiculous endorsements in MLB history includes a Sid and Marty Krofft-esque Kool-Aid commercial starring Pete Roseā€”and that might be the least goofy ad in the bunch.

Marger includes the classic Tom Emansky Baseball ad, but was unable to find video of it. Can you help?

You need to watch the video to truly appreciate the best part of that commercial, which Marger does not mention: McGriff’s cap is about 37 sizes too small.
