L.A. writers meet-up set: January 12 in Santa Monica

Santa Monica Pier and BeachThe first Office Hours writers meet-up of 2012 will be in Los Angeles on Thursday, Jan. 12.

All Southern California Bleacher Report writers are invited to join Lead Writer Dan Rubenstein and me at West 4th and Jane, 1432A 4th Street in Santa Monica.

Eat and drink on us, get some free Bleacher Report swag, meet your fellow scribblers and talk about B/R. What do you like about it? What could we do better? What’s that big idea you’ve been sitting on that would be awesome if Bleacher Report did it?

We’ve had meet-ups in San Francisco, New York and Chicago, and the best thing about them for me is hearing how the experience of Bleacher Report is going for our writers, and how we can make it better.

Let’s make the L.A. meet-up the biggest one yet. Leave a comment or drop me a line if you’re planning to come so we’ll know how much food to order.

Oy, three days after I leave to go back to Eugene.

  • Pete Schauer

I guess I missed the NY one. When’s the next East Coast trip?

We’re still planning 2012, but tentatively, Philly in the spring, NYC in the summer.

        Boston?

        • Anonymous

The plan for 2012 is still tentative, and right now Boston’s on the bubble. We’re probably going back to New York and San Francisco, and we’ll likely hit Philly, Atlanta and Dallas. Might have time for one more beyond those. Thinking about Boston, Miami (which is bigger than Miami, but do we have more writers in Boston? We don’t know), possibly, though not likely, Toronto.

    I’ll be there… What’d Bart Scott say? CAN’T WAIT! :P

Do another one in SF and I’ll be there in a heartbeat!

Since Bleacher Report’s World HQ is in San Francisco, and that’s where I live, we’ll do more meetups here than anywhere else. Hey, SF’s a tourist destination. If you don’t live somewhere we’re likely to have a meetup, plan your next vacation around the next San Francisco Office Hours. Probably have two in 2012. Most likely sometime in the spring next.

You guys should have one in the Seattle region.

Seattle’s a much smaller city, so it’s on the next level, though on the other hand we have Bethlehem Shoals there. We might bump it up the list a bit if we knew enough people would show to justify doing that.
