Help the B/R product team make better publishing tools for you

Bleacher Report’s product and tech folks are working on improvements to the tools B/R writers use to create and publish their stories. They’ve asked me to pass along this survey, which they’re hoping you’ll use to tell them how they can make the tools work better for you.

The Survey Monkey survey only takes a couple of minutes to complete, and it would be a big help for our engineers as they try to help you.

    Mr. Kaufman,

Just wanted to let you know that the link isn’t working…which is slightly impairing my ability to take the survey.

    • King_Kaufman

Thank you, Ben. A rogue space got into the URL coding. Fixed now.

        Oh, those rogue spaces.

  • Karl M

ability to log in and write/publish via ipad figures high on my personal wish-list!! would make publishing on call/on the go far easier and more accessible.

    • Vince

      This. Very much this.

      • King_Kaufman

Thanks for the suggestion, Jesse and Karl. It would be best if you could fill out the survey. I will pass along this note to the product team, though.

That said, it is very much a conscious decision not to make writing/editing/publishing available on mobile devices. They are beautiful things for reading Bleacher Report, but they are not good tools for creating. It is too easy to make mistakes. We understand the advantages, but feel they are outweighed by the disadvantages.

        • K M

yes I filled in the survey with the same. thanks.

Done, yo. Good looking out. Let’s make this the best sports site in the world.

If I could make any improvements to the writer tools what would they be?

One Suggestion: Big pictures for slideshows! I had that capability for most of November. But it reverted back to the old format recently. I’m not sure if they were just doing a trial run for something new but that was really awesome.

I like the look of slideshows with the big action shots on top and captions underneath. Not a small picture with captions on the side. It makes everything look much more clean and organized.

      Danny,

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ve passed it along to the product team, but it would help a lot if you’d take a couple of minutes and fill out the survey, just so it’s in the system, as it were, and less likely to get lost in the shuffle.

    Done.
