Product Manager

Bleacher Report, the largest and fastest growing independent sports property on the web, is looking for a motivated Product Manager to lead our product strategy and execution on multiple fronts — from building publishing tools for our community of writers to optimizing page layouts to enhance the experience of our growing audience and creating products that drive new business opportunities.
Specifically, the product manager is responsible for all phases of product life cycle from product strategy and vision to product execution and launch. Key responsibilities include: being a user advocate, gathering and prioritizing product features, creating product requirement documents, and working closely with business stakeholders and engineers to ensure timely delivery of products that support Bleacher Report’s overall strategy and goals.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the planning and creation of all site features, ensuring that design and site interactions are best in class.
- Develop standards for and ensure timely delivery of all requirements documents, wireframes, and designs.
- Analyze the product’s effectiveness based on objective and subjective feedback. Adapt strategy based on feedback to ensure optimal performance.
- Continually analyze business results and product development process and implement improvements.
- Ensure competitiveness of offerings by developing and driving systematic competitive analysis and response programs.
- Lead the charge to market for product through the entire lifecycle from concept to end-of-life by working closely with engineering, design, marketing and business stakeholders to execute on product and business plans.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Demonstrated success building a large-scale consumer web destination and working as part of a world-class product management team, with strong processes and methodologies.
- Proven understanding of issues and opportunities related to operating a content or community site, ideally in the sports category.
- A highly analytical and structured thinker able to put complex ideas into clear frameworks and to use data to drive strategic objectives and priorities.
- Strong understanding of visual design concepts, with ability to offer direct feedback on site layout, user interactions, and general usability.
- 5 to 10 years experience spanning product management, product strategy and/or usability design functions in the consumer internet space.
- BA or BS required; MBA or graduate degree in technical/design field is a plus.
- Agile or Scrum methodology experience also a plus.
