Shoutouts: Three entertaining, edifying slideshows

A few quick end-of-day Shoutouts.

Ethan Norof runs down 54 players who made more money in their careers than Michael Jordan.

Plenty of good research went into this fun and sort of amazing slideshow. It’s not like Jordan retired 30 years ago and inflation accounts for all those other guys’ higher totals.

You probably noticed Jason Giambi hit three home runs the other day, but be honest: Before that, did you know he was still in the league? Kyle Boberg didn’t, and there are a few others he didn’t know were still kicking it.

Funny stuff. I particularly like the honorable mentions — guys who were so obscure, “they can’t even make a list about forgotten athletes.”

And Jeffrey Beckmann put his back into some heavy research into a difficult subject to come up with a slideshow of the greatest fielder in the history of every MLB team.

Beckmann used a mix of metrics to come up with his list — and the Bleacher Report crowd has jumped on some of his choices in the comments.
