Curiosity has its own reason for existence. The important thing is not to stop questioning.
As true for a writer as it is for a scientist, unless you’re interested in becoming a champion of conventional wisdom. Voltaire supposedly* said, “Common sense is not so common.” It’s worth remembering that, similarly, conventional wisdom is often not wise.
*He may have said that, but what he actually wrote was, “Le sens commun est fort rare,” which translates to “Common sense is quite rare.”
