Shoutouts: Writing awards for Sanjay Kirpalani, Nate Dunlevy

Self-described “recruiting junkie” Sanjay Kirpalani has been awarded second prize for feature writing by the Football Writers Association of America for his Bleacher Report piece Nick Saban’s Secret Recruiting Recipe.

The article appeared in B/R’s CFB Recruiting 200 series in June.

Sanjay isn’t the only B/R writer to win some laurels lately. Nate Dunlevy took home an Honorable Mention in the Columns category in the Professional Football Writers of America writing awards.

Dunlevy was honored for his December 2012 piece The Meaning of Andrew Luck.

While Dunlevy no longer writes for Bleacher Report, having left to pursue a nonfiction writing project, we still get to crow about our association with him. You can still read Nate at ColtsAuthority.

A few other quick Shoutouts to notable pieces this week, as chosen by Bleacher Report’s Quality Editors:

The Past, Present and Future of NBA Scouting by Stephen Babb.

US Open Tennis 2013: Is Serena Williams the greatest of all time? by Lindsay Gibbs.

Tale of the Tape from NFL Week 1 by Matt Bowen.

The Perils of Being the No. 2 Pick in the NBA Draft by Josh Martin.
